In 2020 we retained Fashioneering to support our business. Despite the great challenges of the pandemic and lockdowns (we are a solely brick-and-mortar operation) we saw a 24% increase in net sales. But much more important, Kate helped me fall in love with our business again.
Kate is thoughtful, creative, and vigorous in developing opportunities and solving problems with a keen sense of merchandise and is not at all constrained by routines or status quo.
Kate is definitely one of a kind. She is dedicated, smart, and has common sense (common sense is actually not that common). And on top of it all, she is actually fun to work with! As a new designer, I needed support and direction to understand what a department store needed. Pricing, colors, sizes, shapes, and deliveries. Kate patiently worked with me over the years to build a business that exceeded my wildest dreams. I would call our working relationship one of tough love. Kate was always open and honest with me, and it was really just what was needed.
Kate is uniquely dedicated and very driven, she worked extremely hard to understand our business in extraordinary depth in the four years she worked with us and managed to push the business to new heights each year. Ultimately achieving the highest volume in our RTW business worldwide while simultaneously achieving the highest regular-price sell-through in our company's storied history. No small achievement for any heritage brand but especially with a brand such as ours.
Ms. Sheldon has been consulting with our Maison for 3 years working as our de facto CEO. She has been reorganizing and managing different teams and departments: the studio, the commercial and the merchandising. She was able to create a team and set up a real team-spirit thanks to her great energy and dynamism. Her leadership, sense of organization, and high standards made us all improve together and especially our young designer. He has been learning a lot from her for example to funnel his creativity and energy. She is deeply focused on her work and efficient at it, but never loses her humanity and cares about different personalities to unite a team to get the best of it. From the very beginning, her strategy was clear. She knows exactly the luxury market and has a perfect knowledge of the product. She also knows exactly what women are willing to wear nowadays and what could attract them to a house such as ours. Indeed, she knew exactly how to modernize the collections that would suit the long history and heritage of such a House. Having her with us has been crucial. Thanks to her so many issues were solved concerning our strategy and management. Her sense of style and deep knowledge of the luxury market elevated our collections in many ways. We are still enjoying the work she has achieved.
